The correct option is (a) shows a positive deviation from Raoult's law.

1. Due to the break of H bond between the molecule of ethanol.

2. The components include can escape easily due to high vapour pressure.

A solution of acetone in ethanol shows :

• Ethanol with ethanol molecules forms strong H-bonds. Therefore, In pure ethanol solution vapour pressure is low due to strong interaction.

• When acetone is added in ethanol, H-bond gets break and new bonds are formed between ethanol and acetone which are less stronger then initial ones. i.e solute-solute interaction > solute-solvent interaction

• Volume and vapour pressure increases.

• Hence solution shows a positive deviation from Raoult’s law
