A solution of CuSO4 was kept in an iron pot. After a few days, the iron pot was found to have a large
number of holes in it. Write the equation for this reaction that took place. Explain the reaction in

Iron is more reactive than copper. So, when the solution of CuSO4(aq) is kept in an iron pot, iron gets dissolved. This causes holes in the iron pot.

Reaction :

Fe(s) + CuSO4(aq) ----------) FeSO4(aq) + Cu(s)

In the above reaction copper metal is precipitated.
