A solution of CuSo4 was kept in an iron pot. After few days, the iron pot was found to have a no. of holes in it. Explain the reason in terms of reactivity. write the equation of the reaction involved.​

Iron is more reactive than copper so CuSo4 react with iron to form FeSo4 iron particles get converted into solution therefore iron pot have holes

Equation: CuSo4+Fe=FeSo4+Cu

Answer:

we know that iron is more reactive than copper. So, when a solution of copper sulphate is kept in an iron pot , then iron being more reactive displaces copper from copper sulphate solution.

CuSO4    +  Fe =  FeSO4    +   Cu

Hence holes are formed in the iron pot.
