When a SONAR sends a signal, the total distance covered by the signal is 2 times of the depth as first it goes and second time it returns.

We know that Total distance = Speed × time

Let the depth be d, therefore,

Total distance = 2d

=> 2d = v × t

=> 2d = 1530 × 35

=> d = 1530 × 35/2

=> d = 765 × 35

=> d = 26,775 m

=> d = 26.775 km

Answer ;- 26,775 m or 26.775 km

Using The Formula :-

Distance = Speed × time

Let the depth be p,

Total distance = 2p

⇒ 2p = v × t

⇒ 2p = 1530 × 35

\bf\huge p = \frac{1530\times35}{2}

⇒ p = 765 × 35

⇒ p = 26,775 m

Convert into kilometer

⇒ p = 26.775 km

Hence :-

Depth = 26.775 km
