A sound board is used for reflecting the sound to the audience. It works like a concave board set behind the stage in such a manner that the speaker is at the focus. The sound coming from the speaker falls over the sound board and is then reflected towards the audience,thereby enabling the audience sitting at even a farther distance from the speaker to clearly hear whatever the speaker says. The ceiling of the auditorium is also made curved so that it also acts like a sound board and reflects the sound waves to facilitate better hearing.
