the speed of light is faster than that of sound,
so light from the lightning is visible as soon as it occurs but sound requires some time to cover this distance...
distance= speed ×time
(346×5)= 1730m

Answer:

1730 meters

Explanation:

Let someone is Nita:

Suppose Nita is stood in open ground and she heard the lightning sound after 2 seconds of seeing it.

Given that,

Velocity of sound in air = 346 m/s

Time required = 5 seconds

To find: Distance between Nita and that Lightning

So,

Velocity = Distance / Time

346 m/s = Distance / 5 seconds

Distance = Velocity * Time

Distance = 346 * 5

Distance = 1730 meters

Therefore, the distance of Lightning from Nita is 1730 meters.
