A sound of more than 85 decibels is considered as harmful. It also depends on the time you are exposed to such sounds. If the ears are exposed to long hours and at regular intervals then it is very harmful.
- In general a normal speech is about 60 dB, a whisper is around 30 dB, and sounds of motorcycles are around 95 dB.
- Immediate harm is caused to the ears if the dB is above 120.
