A sound wave has a frequency of 2.0KHz and wavelength 17 cm. How much time will it take to travel 2 km?

Hey friend,

Frequency,
                   v = 2 kHz
                     = 2000 Hz

Wavelength,
                    λ = 17 cm 
                       = 0.17m

Speed = Wavelength x frequency

V = λ x v

= 0.17 m x 2000 Hz
= 340 m/s

The time taken by the wave to travel a distance, d of 2 km is
    t = d/v
      = (2 x 1000 ) / 340
      = 2000/340 
      = 5.8 s

Hence sound will take 5.8 seconds to travel a distance of 2 km.
