Given :

Frequency of sound wave = 250 Hz

Speed = 340 m/s

To Find :

The wavelength of the sound wave in air

Solution :

The relation between Frequency, wavelength and velocity is given by ,

 \\  \star \: \Large{\boxed{\purple{\sf{ \lambda =  \frac{ v}{f} }}}} \\  \\

Here,

λ is wavelength

f is frequency

v is velocity

We have,

v = 340 m/s

f = 250 Hz = 250 s⁻¹ {∵ 1s⁻¹ = Hz}

Substituting the values we have,

 \\   : \implies \sf \:  \lambda =  \frac{340\:ms^{-1}}{250\:s^{-1}}  \\  \\

\\ :\implies \sf\:\lambda=1.36\:ms^{-1}\times s\\ \\

 \\  :  \implies{\underline{\boxed{\pink {\mathfrak{\mathfrak{\lambda \:  = 1.36 \: m}}}}}}  \: \bigstar \\  \\

Hence, the wavelength of the sound wave in air is 1.36 m.
