A source is producing 15 waves in 3 sec. The distance between the crest and adjacent trough is 10cm. Find the velocity.

v = f λ

Given

λ = 10 cm

f = 15/3 cycles per second = 5 Hz

Now

v = 10 * 5 = 50 cm per second

Wkt 1m = 100cm

=> v = 0.5 meter per second
