Diwali is one of the most favorite festival of everyone. It is a most enjoyable, sacred and loveliest festival in the Hindu religion. It is celebrated every year all through the country as well as abroad (by the Indian people) with great joy and enthusiasm. Everyone (especially kids) waits for this festival with much keen. This festival is celebrated from the ancient time to mark the happy return of lord Rama with his wife and brother to his Kingdom (Ayodhya) after long fourteen years of exile.

It is a five days long festival of lights and festivities, falls every year twenty days after Dussehra. It make us feel the advent of winter season. It brings lots of charms and delight in our life. Diwali is also known as Deepawali because we make a row or collection of many lamps out the home. People start festival preparations few days before the main date such as cleaning of houses, white washing of buildings, decorations, buy toys, gifts, flowers and other necessary things for festival. At this day people become very happy and distribute gifts to each other.We burn crackers and make beautiful rangoli.

Diwali is known as the festival of lights, which brings confidence and growth. Hindu, Sikh and Jain religious significance for the people and it has several effects. The five-day festival, which every year comes after 21 days of Dussehra. The many cultural belief that Lord Rama to his kingdom after 14 years of exile is celebrated on arrival. The coming of Lord Ram in ayodhya day was greeted by fireworks and lights.

The first day of Diwali is called Dhanteras or Dntreyondshin is celebrated with the worship of Mother Lakshmi. Devotional songs for the people to please the goddess, chant prayers and do. Nark chaturdasi or which adds little to the day Lord Krishna is worshiped on Diwali as the day Lord Krishna killed narakasura. Oil bath early in the morning from a religious belief that Goddess Kali is worshiped and is put kumkum.
The third day of Diwali in which the worship of Goddess Lakshmi is,  distributed sweets and gifts to friends and family as well as the evening fireworks are Jmke.
The fourth day is Govardhan Puja is a worship Lord Krishna. Those cows dung on your doorstep with a worship Govardhan. It is believed that Lord Krishna lifted Mount Govardhan on his little finger to the people of Gokul from sudden rain come rain god Indra was saved. On the fifth day, we know the name of Shyama Dwitiy or Bhaiya Duj. It is a festival of brotherhood.
