By ‘sphere of 8cm’, I mean ‘sphere of 8cm diameter’, i.e., radius of 4cm.

Total surface area of this part

= Area of Base surface part (subtended central angle 90 degrees) + 2*Area of Vertical side surface (subtended central angle 90 degrees) + Area of slanted side surface (part of mother sphere itself)

= [(1/4) + {2*(1/4)} + (4/8)]*Π(r^2)

= (5/4)*Π(r^2)

= (5/4)*Π*16 sq. cm.

= 62.83185 sq. cm.
