In India,farming is the main production activity in villages. However,steps have been taken to encourage non-gaming activities in the villages.

These include:

1) Electricity supply needs to be made on regular basic. This will help in setting up small scale units which use machines and tools for production

2) Setting up schools and colleges in villages. This will help in imparting education to the rural population to make them employable resource.

3) Setting up vacational course in the field of electrician,plumber,carpenter etc. This will help village people to take up activities away from farming
