A spherical ball of mass m = 5 kg rests between two planes which make angles of 30° and 45° respectively with the horizontal. The system is in equilibrium. Find the normal forces exerted on the ball by each of the planes. The planes are smooth.

N2 = √2mg/(√3-1)

= √2×5×10/(√3-1)

= {50√2/(√3-1)}N

N1 = √2N1 = √2×50×√2/(√3-1)

= {100/(√3-1)}N
