Given :- A spherical ball of radius 4 cm placed on the ground subtends an angle of 60° a point pon the ground. then the distance at the point p from the centre of the ball is

1. 6cm

2. 2cm

3. 8cm

4. None .

Solution :-

from image we have , in right ∆OAP ,

→ OA = 4 cm = radius .

→ ∠APO = 60°

→ ∠AOP = 30°

So,

→ cos 30° = OA / OP

→ √3/2 = 4 / OP

→ OP = (8/√3)

→ OP = (8/√3) * (√3/√3)

→ OP = (8√3/3) (Ans.) (4)
