➡On mixing sugar in 500 ml water gives an rise in water volume, for example if 100 gm of sugar is added will give spike in increase of water level by 100 ml and secondly by continuous stirring results in phase change of solute sugar from crystalline state of solid to liquid phase.

➡The conclusion from observation is that whenever solute is added to solvent an physical change will occur.
