(\pi \times {30}^{2}) - (\pi \times {10}^{2} )

the area left for people to sit = Area of field -area of the playground(take pie as 3.14)
= (3.14×(30²)) - (3.14×(10²)) (take out the brackets and then both the pie will cancel out)
                                                 = (30²) - (10²
                                                 = (900) - (100)
= 800m² (area left for audience)

ridwan99: Goutham, shouldn't you subtract the area of the inner playing field from the total field area to find the area of where the spectators will sit? I think your sum is wrong...
ridwan99: It says area LEFT for the spectators. That specifically means subtraction.
goutham1661: no i subtracted it is the correct way
ridwan99: you divided it my friend
ridwan99: ahhh now you changed
ridwan99: it was division at first
ridwan99: It's still wrong though. the answer will be 800 pi metres squared. subtracting does not cancel out the pi. Pi stays as a constant
