) A spring balance is used to find the weight of a body X on the surface of the

moon. The mass of the body X is 2 kg and its weight is recorded as 3.4 N. The

weight of another body Y recorded by the same balance is found to be 7.65 N.

Calculate the mass of the body Y.

please give me the answer in correct method :-):-)

weight (on moon) of body Y = 7.65
gravity on moon = 1/6*9.8= 1.6m/s^2
so mass of the body = 7.65/1.6= 4.78

For body X,

Mass,m =2kg

Weight,W =3.4N

W=mg

g=W/m=3.4/2

g=1.7ms^-2

For body Y,

W=7.65N

g=1.7ms^-2

W=mg

m=W/g=7.65/1.7

m=4.5kg
