A square carpet of side 21 m is laid down in the rectangular room of length 30 and breadth 15 m. find the area left uncovered.

The carpet covers 21 m length. So the area uncovered =9*15=135 sq. m

The area of square carpet = 21×21

= 441 m

The area of rectangular room = 30×15

= 450 m

Area left uncovered = 450-441 = 9m
