Perimeter of square = 4a
36 = 4a
a= 9 mm

Area of square = a^2
= 9x9
= 81 mm^2

perimeter of the square = 36mm
perimeter = side ×4
thus,
side = 36/4
side = 9 mm

therefore,
area of the square = side^2
thus,
area= 9^2= 81mm^2
