The square hole is in form of a cuboid.

Length = 0.5m = 50cm

Breadth = 0.5m = 50cm

Height = 2m = 200cm

Soil taken: Volume of hole

= l × b × h

= 50*50*200 = 500000 cm^3

Now, length of patch = 400 cm

breadth of patch = 50cm

Height = h

l*b*h = Volume of soil

500000 = 400*50*h

h = 25cm

Thus height of the soil spread is 25 cm or 0.25m
