           h = 3m

To find the rate of total cost for painting four walls we must first find the total area of four walls which is nothing but the room's Lateral Surface Area.

Lateral Surface area of a Cuboid = 2h ( l + b )

Area of four walls = 2 × 3 ( 4 + 4 )

                             = 6 × 8

                             = 48 m²

Given :

Cost to paint 1 m² = ₹2

Total cost of painting four walls = 48 x 2

                                                     = 96

                                                 Answer : ₹96
