Given,

Perimeter of square =  Total length of wire =264 units.

(since in the question the unit of length is not mentioned hence it is written as unit)

Now, according to the question=>

Circumference of circle will be equal to the length of wire which is earlier used to make the square.

Let the radius of circle be r.

So, Circumference of circle = 2× $\pi$ ×r

=> 264 = 2 × $\pi$ × r

=> 132 = $\frac{22}{7}$ × r

=> $\frac{132*7}{22}$ = r

                                            => r = 42units.

Now, Area of circle = $\pi$ × $r^{2}$

=> Area of circle  = $\frac{22}{7}$ × $42^{2}$

                                 => Area of circle = 5544units.

Hence area of the circle is 5544 units.
