Given

A stage 10 m long, 5 m wide and 2 m high has to be constructed by using bricks.

To Find

The number of bricks of 25 cm in length, 10 cm wide and 5 cm high required to make the stage.

Method

We will first calculate volume of the stage and brick and then we will use it to to calculate number of bricks.

Formula

Volume of Cuboid = L × B × H

where

L is length of Cuboid

B is width of Cuboid

H is height of Cuboid

N = Volume of stage / Volume of brick

where

N is number of bricks.

Solving

We need to calculate number of bricks such that their volume sum up to volume of stage.

So,

Volume of Stage = 10m × 5m × 2m

Volume of Stage = 100m³

Volume of Brick = 25cm × 10cm × 5cm

Volume of Brick = 0.25m × 0.1m × 0.05m

Volume of Brick = 0.00125m³

Note :- Volume will be in same units.

N = Volume of stage / Volume of brick

N = 100 / 0.00125

N = 80000

Answer

So, 80000 bricks are required to make the stage.
