= x = 80 kg - 48 kg + 12 kg
= x = 80 kg - 60 kg
= x = 20
per centage of aluminum in statue before melting
= 20 / 80 × 100% = 25%
after melting 5% of aluminum is removed.
So, the quantity of aluminum in the statue is now
= 25% - 5% = 20%
