_______Here's your Answer _________

Let x be the speed of the streamer in still water.

Distance in both cases is same.

Now,

 Speed= Distance / Time.

So, In downstream,

=> x + 2 = d/4

=> d = 4x + 8.

And

In upstream,

=> x - 2 = d/5

=> d = 5x - 10.

 Since, Distance is same in both case.

Therefore,

=>4x + 8 = 5x - 10

=> 5x - 4x = 10+8

=> x = 18.

Hence, speed of the streamer in still water is 18 kmph.

\huge\mathfrak\pink{anSwEr}

let us assume the speed in still water is x

we know,

distance,d = speed,s × time,t

s = d/t

while going downstream

take speed be x+2

x+2 = d/4

d = 4x+8

speed while going upstream = x-2

x-2 = d/5

d = 5x-10

equating distance

4x+8 = 5x-10

x =18

hence speed is 18m/s
