A stond is thrown upwards from a tower with a velocity 50 ms-1. Another stone is simultaneously thrown
downwards from the same location with a velocity 50 ms- When the first stone is at the highest point,
the relativo velocity of the second stone with respect to the first stone is (assume that second stone has
not yet reached the ground):
(A) Zero
(B) 50 ms-
(C) 100 ms
(D) 150 ms -1

Answer:
100 m/s
Explanation:
First we find time taken by first stone to reach the highest point, by using the equation
v = u + at
we get t = 5 seconds
now velocity gained by second second after 5 seconds in downward direction,
v = u + at
v = 100 m/s
Now, as we know that at highest point velocity of first stone will be zero.
so relative velocity of second stone with respect to fir stone = velocity of second stone - velocity of first stone
100 - 0 = 100 m/s
