Answer:

3 seconds

Explanation:

v {}^{2}  - u {}^{2}  = 2as \\  \\ v {}^{2}  - 0 = 2 \times 9.8 \times 125 \\  =  {v}^{}  =  \sqrt{(2450)}  = 49.4

time take to hit (t)=displacement/velocity

125 \div 49.4 = 2.53

roughly 2.5 seconds

time taken by the sound the distance

125/250=0.5 seconds

total time =2.5+0.5=3 seconds

Answer:

time = t = 2 seconds

Explanation:

Given :

Velocity of sound = v = 250 m/s

depth or distance = d = 125 m

We have,

Time (t) = distance /velocity

=> t = 250/125

=> t = 2 sec.

Thus, the time to hear the splash of sound is 2 sec.
