h = 500 m                 g = 10 m/sec/sec            c = 340 m/sec

Time for the stone to travel to the base of the tower:
         s = u t + 1/2 a t^2
         500 = 0 + 1/2 * 10 * t^2
         t = 10 sec.
Let us say the time for the splash to be generated is very less.

Time taken by the sound wave to travel to the top of the tower
         =  500 m / 340 m/s
         = 1.47  seconds

Total time after which the sound is heard at the top = 11.47 sec
