h= 1/2 ( gt²). given h = 500m and let g= 10

=> 1/2( 10 ×t²)= 500

=>. 10 t²= 1000

=> t²= 100

=>. t=. 10 second

so time to reach sound to the hearer

= 11.47- 10

= 1.47 second. ( let T)

speed of sound. = h/ T

= 500/ 1.47

= 340.14 m/sec. approximately
