a stone is thrown downwards with velocity 20 m/s from the top of a tower of height 40m. At the same time another stone is projected upwards from the ground along the same line, with the same velocity 20 m/s. when and where do they meet. ​

Sy = ut - 1/2 gt²

h=Sy = 20 sin 30° × 5 - 1/2 × 10 × (5)²

h=50 - 125 = -75m ( minus sign just indicate that the displacement is in downward direction )

Hmax = u² sin² O/ 2g

= (20)² sin² 30°/ 2×10

= 5m

Hence, maximum height attained by projectile = h + Hmax = 75×5 = 80m
