Answer :

A stone is thrown vertically upward with a velocity of 5m/s.

Acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s²

We have to find max. height attained by the stone and time taken to reach there.

◈ For a body thrown vertically upward, g is taken negative.

Max. height :

➝ v² - u² = 2gH

➝ 0² - 5² = 2(-10)H

➝ -25 = -20H

➝ H = -25/-20

H = 1.25 m

Time taken :

➝ v = u + gt

➝ 0 = 5 + (-10)t

➝ t = -5/-10

t = 0.5 s
