A stone is thrown up with a velocity of 10 ma' at an angle of 30 to the horizontal. What is its velocity along the (i) horizontal, (ii) vertical direction?​

WE KNOW THAT THE VELOCITY OF A PROJECTILE ALONG X DIRECCTION IS THE HORIZONTAL COMPONENT AND ALONG Y DIRECTION IS THE VERTICAL COMPONENT.

∴ HORIZONTAL DIRECTION VELOCITY (at t=0 or just at the time of throw) = 10*cos30

= 10*√3/2

= 5√3 m/s [ans]

∴ VERTICAL COMPONENT OF VELOCITY

= 10 * sin30

= 10*1/2

= 5 m/s [ans]
