The equation is
v^2=u^2+2gh
where v is velocity , g is acceleration due to gravity and h is height that is required to find, and u is initial velocity
here we are throwing stone upward so initial velocity(u) is zero
so v^2=2gh
so h=v^2÷2g
ie, height= 5^2÷2×9.8
=25÷19.6
= 1.27m
