#answerwithquality #bal

Explanation:

v² - u² = 2gH

u = 0m/s   v= 49m/s

49*49 = 2 * 9.8 H

H = 49*49/19.6

   = 2.5 * 49

   = 122.5m

The maximum height attained by stone is 122.5 m

Explanation:

when a stone is thrown upward

acceleration due to gravity is negative i.e g  = -9.8 m/s²

equation for this situation is ; v² = u² - 2gh

where v = final velocity  = 0 because the ball reaches maximum height

 u = initial velocity i.e 49 m/s

substituting the values in equation

we get 0 = 49² - 2 x 9.8 x h

h = 122.5 m

well you can also calculate time to reach maximum height

for this equation v = u-gt will be used

since v = 0

we have t = u/g = 49 / 9.8 = 5s
