A stone is thrown vertically upwards with a velocity of 40m/s? At what height will its kinetic energy and potential energy be equal? Calculate the p. E of the body if its mass =10 kg

KE = PE

1/2 mv² = m g h

1/2 x 10 x 1600 x 10 x 10 x h

160/2 = h

80 m = height

Hey!

v=40m/s
m= 10kg
Taking g= 10m/s
[Answer may varry if g=9.8m/s]

K.E=P.E

1/2mv^2=mgh
1/2×10×(40)^2=10×10×h
5×1600=100×h
8000=100×h
8000/100=h
h=80m

At height of 80m , Kinetic energy= Potential energy.
