A stone is thrown vertically upwards with an initial velocity of 14 m/s. Neglecting air resistance find (a) the maximum height reached; and (b) the time it has taken to reach the ground.

Taking u=14 v=0 a=g= 10 (9.8) s=x


V square - u square = 2gs

14×14 -0= 2×10×S

196= 20s

S= 196/20

S= 9.8 metre
