Answer:

ok. see this

Explanation:

Mass = 250 g = 0.25 kg

Height = 2.5 m

Taking g = 10 m/s^2

w = Potential Energy

W = mxgxh

W = 0.25 × 10 × 2.5

W = 0.25 × 25

W = 6.25 J

Given :

Mass (m) = 250 gm

Height (H) = 2.5 m

To Find :

Potential Energy of the stone

Solution :

The ability of a body to do work due to its special position or configuration, is called potential energy.

Potential Energy = Mass (m) × Acceleration due to gravity (g) × Height (h)

∴ Potential Energy of the stone = mgh

                                                      = 0.25 × 9.8 × 2.5

                                                      = 6.125 J

Thus, the potential energy of the stone is 6.125 J
