A stone projected horizontally from the top of a tower with a speed of 4m/s lands on the level ground at horizontal distance of 25m from the foot of the tower. Calculate the height of the tower. {Take acceleration due to gravity (g)=10m/s}

Answer:

Given =>

Speed = 4m/s

Horizontal distance => 25m

To find => Height of the tower

Solution :-

Time = Distance/ speed.

therefore, Time = 25/4 = 6.25s

The initial vertical velocity = 0

therefore we'll use :- s = 1/2at^2

Putting all values,

s = 1/2 × 10 × (6.25)^2

s = 195.31m approx.
