first find the height of projection which is 1/2gt1t2 boe find how much height the second particle goes which comes out by two equations

t2-t1 =2u/g-------1

hieght gain by second particle(h) = u^/2g -------2

by this you will find h is (t2-t1)^2/8g

now add both the heights to get the height gained by the particle
