Taking g as 9.81 ms^2

v = u + at

0 = u + -9.81 x 5/2
u = 24.525 ms^-1

s = ut + 0.5 at^2
s= 24.525 x 5/2 + 0.5 x -9.81 x (5/2)^2
s= 30.7 m (3 s.f. )

Answer:

The velocity will be,

30.7m (3s.f)

Explanation:

What is velocity?

The direction of movement of the body or item is defined by velocity. Speed is fundamentally a scalar number. Velocity is, in essence, a vector quantity. It is the pace at which distance changes. It is the rate of displacement change. Velocity is a vector, whereas speed is a scalar. The sign for speed is v (italic), whereas the symbol for velocity is v. (boldface). A bar is placed over the symbol to represent average values. Displacement is calculated along the shortest path between two places and is always less than or equal to the distance.

Calculations:

9.81 m/s^{2} v = u + at0 = u + -9.81 x 5/2\\u = 24.525 ms^-1s = ut + 0.5 at^2s= 24.525 x 5/2 + 0.5 x -9.81 x (5/2)^2s= 30.7 m (3 s.f. )
