Length of tile = 12 cm
Breadth of tile = 10 cm
Length of road = 240 m = 24000 cm
Breadth of road = 12 m = 1200 cm

Let 'n' be the number of tile
area of road = area of tile × n
Length × Breadth = Length × Breadth × n
24000 × 1200 = 12 × 10 × n
24000 × 1200/12 × 10 = n
n = 240,000
Ans. the number of tiles needed to make the road = 2,40,000
