A strip, 2 cm broad, along the insides of a paper which is 20 cm long and 10 cm

broad has been coloured. What is the area of the coloured part?​

Area of the paper = 10 × 20 = 200 cm²

Since the paper is bordered with a 2cm wide strip, length cut off is 4cm (2cm on left and right each) and similarly breadth cut off is also 4cm (2cm on the top and bottom each)

Area of the paper without the strip = 6 × 16 = 96 cm²

Therefore,

Area of the colored strip = 200 - 96 = 104 cm²
