Remains the same.

The question is based on Terzaghi’s and Meyerhoff’s bearing capacity theories.

The assumptions of Terzaghi’s Bearing Capacity Theory states that

(1) the depth of a foundation is equal to or less than its width.

(2) The base of a footing is not plain.

(3) The soil just above the bottom of a foundation has no shear strength. It is just an additional load as compared to the overturning load.

(4) The addition till the footing base is taken.

(5) The load that is applied is non-eccentric and vertical in nature.

(6) The soil is isotropic and homogenous.
