A strip of metal X is dipped in a blue coloured salt solution of YSO4, after some time ,a layer of metal Y from a salt solution is formed on the surface of metal stip X. Metal X is used in making electric wire. Metal X & Y together forms alloy Z. Then,
1.What are the metals X & Y?
2.Name the metal salt YSO4.
3.What type of chemical reaction take place, when metal X reacted with YSO4?

The blue coloured solution also known as blue vitriol is copper sulphate solution. Thus, y is copper

And the element x used for making electric wires is aluminium .

The type of reaction taking place is displacement reaction.

Alloy z formed would be duralium in addition to the use of magnesium and manganese for the preparation of alloy.
