HELLO THERE!

The universal indicator referred to here is pH solution. The pH value of a solution is the negative logarithm of the Hydrogen ion concentration in it. The pH solution changes its colour in acidic and basic mediums to show how acidic or basic a substance is.

Here, a solution of hydrochloric acid is taken and we know that it is a strong acid, in the sense that the hydrogen ion concentration per molecule of it is more.

And, a pH solution turns red when it comes in contact with a strong acid solution. Hence you got your answer.

The colour of the solution changes from colourless to RED.

THANKS!
