AnswEr :

A student cannot able to see a chart hanging on a wall placed at distance of 3m from his eyes, it means he is suffering from Myopia defect.

Myopia is a defect of an eye in which a defected person can't able to see distant object but he can able to see near object very clearly.

Two causes of Myopia are as follow :

  1. Elongation of eye ball
  2. Decrease in focal length of eye lens

Answer:

A student can not see clearly a chart hanging on a wall placed at distance of 3m from his eye because he is suffering from Myopia.

In this defect, a person can see nearby objects clearly but cannot see distant objects clearly. In this case, image formed before retina not on the retina.

The two causes possible are:-

  • Excessive curvature of eye lens,

  • Elongation of the eyeball.

As a result, the images formed before retina.

Ray diagram to insulate this defect is in the attachment.
