A student claimed that thermometer are useless because a thermometer always registers its own temperature.How would you respond?
Answers
A perfectly fine thermometer will accurately register the temperature of the physical substance of which we want to measure the temperature.
But if a thermometer is only showing it's own temperature ,then there are two possibilities;
1) That particular thermometer is defective.
Or,
2) The person who is using that thermometer is not able to correctly use the thermometer.
If we examine the situation,then we will find which of the above problems is occurring and we can fix that problem accordingly.
Answer:
If a student claims that a thermometer always registers its own temperature and is useless, we must exemplify it by recording the temperature of various heating objects. It is measured in degrees of centigrade or Fahrenheit.
Explanation:
A thermometer is a device to measure temperature. It is a long narrow tube with a neck near the temperature sensor. The sensor encloses the 'metal mercury' which is a liquid at room temperature and expands on heating. As a result, the mercury level rises above the normal range.
