These are the precautions one should take while performing an experiment to check carbon dioxide is released during respiration:
- Make sure that the apparatus is tight and the end of the delivery tube is not touching the germinating seed there is a safe distance between the two.
- The other end of the delivery tube must be dipped into the solution of lime water
- The seed must be germinating wet and moist
- Fresh solution of lime water must be used every time
