2. fix the shorter end of glass tube in such way that it not touch the seed .

These are the precautions one should take while performing an experiment to show the release of carbon dioxide during respiration:

- Make sure the end of the glass tube is dipped in the solution of Potassium hydroxide solution.

- Similarly, the other end of the tube must not touch the germinating seeds

- Make sure the seeds used are in their germination phase

- Take the freshly prepare solution of KOH
